A celebration of Saint Mark’s Day in Budak included a Mass and attracted a large number of participants. It was followed by a traditional family gathering with a small meal.

History

The Budački Bridge crosses the Lika in Budak and was historically one of the important crossings over the river in the Lika area. The first known references to the site come from 18th-century military maps. A larger stone Budački Bridge was built in the mid-19th century, and its original foundations have been preserved. This bridge served the people of Gospić for more than 80 years.

In the immediate vicinity, in Stari Budak in Mušaluk, the remains of a tower known locally as Bešića kula are associated with the possible medieval town of Budak.
