Near Zabok, on the scenic summit of Picelj Hill, stands Planinarska kuća Picelj – an old wooden house relocated from the Jastrebarsko area. The Poučni park Picelj, a botanical collection, is located directly next to it. Planinarska kuća Picelj is open by arrangement and has 36 overnight berths.

Nature

The surroundings of Zabok include Puntijarka, Kajsov Vrh and Sljeme. The wider regional area also includes Oštri Hum, Medvedgrad, Novi Dvori, Pišečki grad and the Archaeological Museum.

Culture

The present-day parish church of St Helen the Crusader was built between 1782 and 1827. Its interior was most recently renovated in 2007, and its exterior in 2017. It is one of Zabok’s four protected immovable cultural assets.

The Centar urbane kulture REGENERATOR began operating in Zabok at the end of 2025; it has a boutique cinema. The Gradska galerija Zabok is a multifunctional space for cultural and social events. Outside announced events, the Gradska galerija Zabok can be visited on weekdays by prior arrangement. Admission is free.

The Zabočka kazališna jesen, also known as ZAKAJfest, has been held since 2023. The Dani Ksavera Šandora Gjalskog include the Ksaver Šandor Gjalski literary award.
