The film programme Filmski Uskrs i Vaskrs takes place there regularly, combining film screenings, a film workshop and a discussion about children and film in small communities.

History and crafts

In the wider Municipality of Vojnić, the remains of the Orthodox Church of St Petka in Kolarić are listed in the Croatian Register of Cultural Goods. Stari grad Klokoč is also recorded as a protected cultural good in the Croatian Register of Cultural Goods. The Orthodox Church of Kolarić has been put back into use and serves for liturgical and pastoral services.

The local milling tradition includes several notable examples: Mlin Žuti Put Radonja is a preserved example of traditional local milling history, can be reached by private vehicle via a maintained gravel road and offers an insight into the traditional water-powered processing of grain. The Škrgića Mill was built in 1938 and continues to operate as part of this local milling tradition.

Otmić Fortress is a circular fortress from the 16th century, part of whose cylindrical tower has been preserved. The Central Partisan Hospital in Pišin Gaj was built between 1942 and 1943 and comprised 32 buildings. The King's Tomb is traditionally associated with the death of King Petar Svačić in 1097.

Nature and trails

In the wider Municipality of Vojnić, Petrova Gora is associated with preserved beech, fir, oak and hornbeam forests, water sources, diverse flora and fauna, and ornithologically significant species. The Ornithological Park Petrovac is located on Petrova Gora. A marked trail to the park passes the Pauline Monastery on the way towards King's Tomb; an observation tower is used to watch birds and other animals.

The remains of the Pauline Monastery of St Peter on Mali Petrovac date from 1303 or 1304 and are considered to be among the oldest Pauline monasteries in Croatia. The road to the Petrovac monument is paved, and hiking trails also lead to the monument. King's Tomb can be reached via a gravel road and is marked by a memorial plaque.

The Petrova Gora hiking circuit comprises red and green trails, each beginning and ending at the Muljava hunting lodge and taking around four hours. The state connecting cycle route Barilović–Vojnić–Petrova Gora passes through Vojnić. The Kraljev Put educational trail has been adapted for wheelchair users and blind visitors and includes explanations in Braille.

Events and market

Recurring events take place throughout the wider municipality. Green Night is a two-day sporting event with a cultural programme and traditional dishes from the Kordun region. At the Mushroom Festival in Muljava, held in October, edible and inedible mushrooms are displayed and knowledge is shared.

The market in the wider Municipality of Vojnić sells agricultural products, fruit and vegetables from the surrounding villages, homemade processed foods and handicrafts.

Getting around Vojnić

Vojnić bus station is the municipality's central public transport hub and provides basic connections to Karlovac, Topusko and nearby settlements.
