Radatovići: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Sveta Gera cycling route runs through Radatovići, continuing via Sekulići to Sveta Gera and Sošice. The route is 59 kilometres long, climbs 1,030 metres in elevation and combines paved and gravel sections.

Nature and Trails

Radatovići is located in the western part of Žumberak-Samoborsko Gorje Nature Park, on the slopes of Žumberačka gora. The Sveta Gera cycling route, which passes through Radatovići, is characterised by beech forest, a mountain stream, a mountain meadow and the scenery of traditional villages. On the return to Sošice, it passes through several traditional villages.

Nearby is Sveta Gera, the highest peak of Žumberačka gora and north-western Croatia at 1,178 metres. From Radatovići, views extend towards Velika Kapela, Mala Kapela and Klek, over part of Bela Krajina, and towards Sveta Gera.

The abandoned village of Gaj is located nearby, between Radatovići and Sveta Gera. Once situated at 850 metres above sea level, Gaj was the highest inhabited area of Žumberak.

Culture and History

The parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Radatovići was first mentioned in 1623. The parish church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Radatovići was built at its present location in 1870.

The Chapel of All Saints in the Radatovići cemetery also serves as a priest’s grave. The Radatovići primary school building is listed as a preventive-protection cultural asset under reference P-4272. A 1943 anti-war fresco by Zlatko Prica and Nikola Reiser is located in the former school in Radatovići.

Nearby is Badovinci, on the road towards Radatovići; the Greek Catholic Church of St Nicholas stands there. Also nearby, a monument next to St Nicholas Church displays the coats of arms of famous Uskok families.

Events

The 28th Žumberačka utrka took place in 2024 and attracted increasing numbers of participants, especially children. For the international athletics race Radatovići–Sošice, 140 visitors were recorded in 2019.
