Potok Musulinski: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Potok Musulinski is one of the administrative settlements in the administrative area of the significant Klek Landscape Area. The surroundings combine a distinctive mountain landscape with geological, geomorphological and biological features.

Geographical Location

Musulinski Potok lies in a valley at an elevation of 560 to 640 metres, separating the Klek ridge from Gvozd.

The valley in which Musulinski Potok and Bjelsko are located forms part of the southern and southwestern boundary of the Klek area.

Nature

In the immediate vicinity, Klek rises to 1,182 metres. The mountain is considered a botanical reserve with a diverse range of protected flora and fauna, including orchids, wolves, bears, lynx and capercaillie.

Near Bjelsko, the protected geomorphological monument Visibaba is located in the immediate vicinity. The seven-metre-high rock becomes narrower towards its base and stands on a thin rock support.

Twenty-four butterfly species have been recorded along the Bjelsko–Klečica trail. The recorded species include the endemic subspecies klekovski okaš, which occurs exclusively in the summit area of Klek.

Activities

The Klek geological educational trail comprises ten information panels. They explain geological, geomorphological, hydrogeological and speleological features.

The Klek rock is considered a climbing destination; around 50 routes are described in the Croatian climbing guide.

Culture

Because of Klek, Ogulin is considered the cradle of Croatian mountaineering and alpinism.
