Mahićno: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Mahićno, the history of the parish seat dates back to 1501. The parish church Pohod Blažene Djevice Marije was built in 1770 and acquired its present appearance in the early 20th century.

The parish church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mahićno was decorated in the early 20th century in a rich Tyrolean style.

At a parish festival celebrating the Visitation in Mahićno, parishioners in traditional costumes took part in a procession with a statue of Mary. During another part of the festival, four girls in local traditional costumes carried the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in a procession around the parish church. At such a festival, local volunteer fire brigades and hunters prepared refreshments for the participants.

Nature

Along the Kupa flowing through Mahićno, there are opportunities to catch pike, whitefish, catfish and zander; access is from the bank or by boat.

Route 46 is listed as a cycling route with a length of 53.3 km. In the recommended direction of travel, it passes through Mahićno between Donje Pokuplje and Gornje Pokuplje. The route largely follows the Kupa and runs through suburban settlements and villages to the riverbanks.
