Bilo: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bilo combines a chapel with traces of Cetingrad’s history and several cycling routes. The Chapel of Saint Vincent Paul belongs to the Cetingrad parish and is located in Bilo-Kosica. It was built by Vinko Lončarić and Vinko Božičević in gratitude for surviving the Homeland War.

Culture and History

Traditional culture in the Cetingrad area includes tamburica music, sung couplets, polyphonic singing and dance music. Samica tamburicas are made in Batnoga. A large wooden shelter was built next to the Chapel of Saint Vincent Paul. It provides protection from the rain and is used for celebrating Mass and eating.

Cetin Fortress is a historic fortification with Frankopan origins dating back to the 14th century. It was later conquered and rebuilt under Ottoman rule; the associated archaeological sites include Mala Crkvina.

Surroundings

Route 22 continues from Bilo to Cetinski Varoš and Podcetin, where the medieval old Cetin stands. Its surviving walls are considered suitable for archaeological research and tourist visits. The remains within Cetin include the Ičizar citadel, the Drenđula tower and Turkish walls. A later form of Cetin was an Austrian fortified barracks surrounded by Turkish walls and bastions.

Routes and Trails

The recommended direction of Route 21 passes through Bilo between Podcetin and Gnojnice. The route connects parts of the municipalities of Slunj and Cetingrad and starts in Rastoke. As a circular route, it is 49 kilometres long and has an asphalt surface.

Route 22 has an elevation difference of 623 metres and starts and ends in Rastoke. The Cetingradska osmica course was 45 kilometres long in 2024.
