Daruvar: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the heart of Daruvar lies Daruvar Spa. The complex uses 46.6 °C warm acratothermal water and therapeutic mineral mud. Daruvar Spa has two outdoor pools and an indoor thermal-water pool, as well as fitness, sauna, jacuzzi and massage facilities.

The Aquae Balissae Thermal Aqua Park is located 300 metres from Daruvar city centre, next to the Toplica River, Julijev Park and the sports and recreation zone. The complex includes more than 2,000 square metres of water area, adult and children's pools, slides and a lazy river more than 200 metres long.

The indoor area features a 25 metre-long pool, a children's pool, a cave, a slide, a whirlpool, Finnish saunas and a steam bath.

Nature

Julijev Park is a 9.5 hectare landscaped park with trees more than 150 years old, as well as Baroque and English landscape features.

The Roman Forest covers 20 hectares of woodland park with gravel-covered paths and benches. A hiking trail begins there and leads towards Petrov vrh, Vranjevina, Vrani Kamen, Crni vrh and Kiku.

Julius Brum is a spring in the Roman Forest associated with the local legend of the “Spring of Love”.

History and Culture

The spa park includes historic buildings such as Antun's Baths, Ivan's Baths, Swiss Villa, Villa Arcadia and Central Mud Bath.

The Jewish cemetery within the Roman Forest is a protected cultural monument dating from the early 19th century.

The Zavičajni Museum Daruvar is located in the protected Janković Castle, which dates from the 18th century. It presents Jewish cultural traditions, wartime exhibitions and galleries by Eva Fischer. Visitors can also see the interior rooms of Janković Castle there.

Wine and Beer

Daruvar's local wine road follows a centuries-old tradition of grape cultivation.

Pivovara Daruvar has operated at the same location since 1840 and is Croatia's oldest brewery using traditional Czech brewing techniques. According to tradition, production of Staročeško beer at Pivovara Daruvar began in 1893 following a traditional Czech recipe.

Activities

Fishing is possible at Jezero sports pond next to the Toplica River; cycling is promoted in the surrounding area. Nearby Petrov Vrh has a mountain lodge in a forest clearing, as well as tobogganing and skiing areas.
