Culture
The old town centre preserves its late Baroque character and can be explored on foot. It includes the Church of Saint Teresa of Ávila, the former courthouse and prison known as Glavna straža, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception with murals by Croatian painter Celestin Medović.
The Gradski muzej Nova Gradiška contains archaeological, cultural-historical, ethnological and gallery collections relating to the heritage of the city and western Slavonia. The museum building itself is a Baroque-Classical structure dating from the 18th and 19th centuries and is recognised as a cultural monument.
Getting Around
Nova Gradiška is located at the intersection of important international road and railway connections, including European Corridors Vc and X, with good road and rail links within Croatia and Europe.
The Davor–Strmac cycle route is 120 kilometres long in each direction. Sportski centar Ivo Petranović has a children's playground, a streetball court, a sand court for handball and football, and a beach volleyball court. The centre also includes a skate park and sanitary facilities with showers.
Activities
Sportski centar San Siro on Slavča hosts tennis competitions for younger and older participants. At the San Siro courts, Teniski klub Nova Gradiška also runs a tennis school for all age groups.
The visitor project “Započni avanturu – istraži Novu Gradišku” comprises a city route with 21 points. A second route in the project was planned and was to lead via Slavča to medieval Cernik.
