The Zagrazhden Ecopath is a circular trail of approximately 13 km along the Zagrazhdenska River. The route begins and ends in Zagrazhden and includes wooden bridges, cascades, the Roman Bridge, and the Chistilishteto and Kozarnika waterfalls.

Zagrazhden is described as a mountain village on the border between the Western and Eastern Rhodopes and is located between the Kormisosh, Djenda, and Slivka reserves.

Culture

The community center in Zagrazhden houses a museum collection featuring traditional household furnishings, tools, folk costumes, vessels, wool-processing equipment, a loom, and butter-making equipment. Visitors can also try on Rhodope costumes and learn words from the local dialect.

The Church of St George the Conqueror stands in the center of Zagrazhden next to the community center. It was consecrated on July 4, 2021, and features a wooden iconostasis crafted by artisans from Momchilovtsi.

Cuisine

Zagrazhden is associated with handmade bread baked according to an old Bulgarian recipe in a wood-fired stone oven.
