Culture

The Petko Rachev Slaveykov Primary School in Izgrev runs the “Folklore of Ethnicities” club, which represents the school at school and municipal celebrations. The “Skilful Hands” club produces materials and models for the interior of the school.

The Probuda Community Cultural Center in Izgrev is part of the network of cultural centers of Venets Municipality. This network supports local cultural life and the preservation of Bulgarian customs and traditions.

Students from Izgrev celebrated Bango Vasili at the local chitalishte with songs, dances and survakane. At the regional “Pijo and Penda” competition, the Petko Rachev Slaveykov Primary School in Izgrev received a collective award.

Nature and Landscape

The Izgrev Reservoir is associated with recreational fishing. The landscape of Venets Municipality is characterized predominantly by gently rolling terrain at an elevation of around 200 meters and broad, flat watersheds.

Transport Connections

Venets Municipality has interurban road and bus connections. These include the international Silistra–Shumen–Yambol road, as well as bus connections to other municipalities and to Shumen.

Road III-7005 runs from Izgrev via Tŭkach and Kaolinovo to Todor Ikonomovo. Municipal road 23412 connects Duhovets, Kliment, Naum and Izgrev.
