The start of the Karhorn via ferrata can be reached on foot from the mountain station of the Steffisalp-Express in around 45 minutes. The Steffisalp-Express takes you up to 1,884 m, where a popular starting point for numerous mountain activities is located.

Winter Sports with Connections to the Arlberg

In winter, Warth offers direct access to the ski area. The village ski runs lead practically right to the front doors, making the choice of holiday location an important planning consideration for days on the slopes. In the 2013/14 winter season, the Auenfeldjet connected the Warth-Schröcken and Lech Zürs ski areas. Since the 2016/17 winter season, all the places mentioned along the Arlberg—from Warth-Schröcken via Lech Zürs, Stuben and St. Christoph to St. Anton—have been accessible on skis.

There are also winter-related attractions to discover in Warth away from the ski runs. The Warth Ski Museum is housed in a small, lovingly furnished barn and offers insights into the beginnings of skiing in Warth. The guided “Pfarrer Müller” ski tour leads from Warth to Lech Zürs am Arlberg and commemorates a former skiing pioneer. This allows you to combine an active day with a historical perspective on the development of skiing.

Climbing, History and Quiet Places

The Murmele via ferrata is located in the Schrofenwies climbing garden. It is designed as a practice via ferrata for young children and for gaining initial experience with via ferrata climbing. The climbing garden can be reached from the Lechleiten car park in an easterly direction via a walk of around one minute. This means the visit can be planned as a separate short activity, without equating it with the longer mountain tours around the Karhorn.

The Walserhus is a building dating from the 15th century and the oldest building in Warth. It can only be viewed from the outside; entry is not possible. Those interested in the history of the village can combine viewing the building with the Dorfweg, which passes historic buildings. The World Peace Cross on the Simmel offers a different emphasis: it is a place for reflection and contemplation where visitors can consider the universal values of peace.
