Gmundner Keramik Manufaktur is Europe’s largest ceramics manufacturer and the only business in the world that still practises the flame decoration technique. Treetop Trail, Grünberg and Lake Traunsee

For a day in nature, head to Grünberg. The Salzkammergut Treetop Trail offers special perspectives high above the forest floor and panoramic views of Gmunden and the Lake Traunsee region. The trail ends at a 39-metre-high observation tower. When planning your visit, it is important to note that the treetop trail can be reached by the Grünberg cable car or on foot, but not by car. The car must be parked in the valley. The Traunsee tram runs between Vorchdorf-Eggenberg and Gmunden railway station.

From the mountain station, the Grünbergbande adventure trail leads around the summit to Laudachsee. Grünberg is also home to an idyllic nature reserve at an altitude of 1,004 metres above Lake Traunsee. Depending on your daily itinerary, a stay in Gmunden can thus combine views, exercise and nature observation without leaving out the cultural side of the trip.
