The Achensee Museum and Adventure World presents local customs, the way of life of the people of the Achental and the development of associations and institutions in a museum village with eight buildings. The collection includes historic tractors and the historic stern of the 120-year-old Achensee steamer, complete with a working engine.

Lakeside Trails and Mountain Landscapes

The Straße der Lieder is an approximately 2 km-long, wheelchair-accessible trail along the Achensee promenade between the boat landing stages at Buchau and Seespitz. The Adlerhorst is a 360° viewing platform at an altitude of over 2,000 metres, modelled on an eagle’s nest. The Dalfazer Waterfall offers another landscape experience, with a drop of around 60 metres. One route leads along the waterfall in Maurach and ends on the hiking trail to the Dalfaz Alm.

The trail to the Astenau Alpe starts at a car park above the Haus St. Notburga residential and care centre in Eben. The path winds through open pine forest in several switchbacks and ends at the Astenau Alpe, from where you can look out over the Inn Valley. This gives you a choice of different types of route: a flat trail by the lake, a themed trail with twelve stations or an ascent through the pine forest.
