Pruggern offers different ways to access the mountain landscape: an easy loop to Moosheim, trails through old-growth forest, views of distinctive mountains and the winter sports options at Galsterberg. This allows you to plan your holiday days according to your preferred pace – with the easy P4 loop, the trail through the old-growth forest or activities in the snow.

Easy trails and distinctive landscapes

The easy Pruggern–Moosheim P4 loop covers 5.7 km in 1 hour and 30 minutes from Pruggern to Moosheim. Along the way, it runs with the Enns on your right and passes blooming fields. At the same time, views open up of the Stoderzinken and Kammspitze. If you are looking for a specific route for a shared outing, you can incorporate these details directly into your daily planning.

A different trail setting awaits you at the Pleschnitzzinken. The Pleschnitzzinken Trail leads through old-growth forest with notably gnarled spruce, larch and Swiss stone pine trees before reaching the tree line. The hike to the Pleschnitzzinken can be reached from Pruggern via the Bottinghaus. On the return route, the trail passes over the Galsterbergeralm, which provides an opportunity to stop for refreshments. The tour can therefore be viewed as a sequence of forest, mountain landscape and a refreshment stop, without repeating the same landscape impressions as on the Moosheim loop.

The Tree Horoscope Trail also directs your attention to the surrounding area. From there, you can see the surrounding mountains Stoderzinken, Kamm and Grimming. Depending on whether you want to undertake a specific route or primarily take in the landscape, Pruggern therefore offers different forms of movement and views to choose from.

Galsterberg: slopes, toboggan run and children's area

For winter holidays, the Galsterberg ski area is one of the town's defining attractions. It has four cable cars and lift facilities with a total of 15 km of slopes. The ski area also includes the Gallisches Kinderland. Another option is the 5 km natural toboggan run at Galsterberg. These various options can help you decide whether you would prefer to focus your trip on skiing, tobogganing or a combination of several winter activities.
