Lighthouse, Church and Windmill

The parish church of Podersdorf am See is a late Baroque building erected in 1796 according to plans by the Viennese architect Pilgram. The original church was completely destroyed by the Turks in 1529 and 1683 and was subsequently rebuilt by the local population. Another defining building is the windmill. It has been privately owned by the same family since 1849 and remained in operation until 1926. Today, it is approximately 160 years old, a rarity and a cultural monument of the highest importance; it is also listed as a protected monument.
