Les Houches resort invites for the Russian week

This is the history of this event. In 2008, between the French resort and Russian tourist center Krasnaya Polyana, near Sochi, was signed an agreement on cooperation in tourism. In particular, in Krasnaya Polyana, was opened an office of Les Houches called Maison des Houches. In response Les Houches organizes the "Russian Week". On the first day there will be held the Skiing Grand Prix - a friendly skiing tournament between the sportsmen of Krasnaya Polyana and the French resort. During the whole Russian Week in Les Houches will be organized a lottery, the prize of which is a return ticket to Sochi of the Austrian Airlines company, SPA procedures in Saint Gervais Mont Blanc - one of the oldest resorts in France, and the Chanel «Cuir de Russie» perfume.

The ski resort of Les Houches is located in the region of Haute-Savoie, just 6 miles from the world capital of skiing and mountaineering, Chamonix. Les Houches specializes in ski tourism since 1936 and each winter it is visited by about 400 thousand tourists. Ski tracks of Les Houches are located at an altitude from 950 to 1900m and have a length of about 60 km, 2 of them are black tracks (the highest level of difficulty). On one of them "La Verte des Houches" are held the competitions in downhill at the World Cup, the resort also has 13 red, 7 blue and 4 green slopes.

In addition to alpine skiing Les Houches offers an opportunity to study lowland skiing, ice skating, dog sledding, helicopter rides, paragliding, and in summer - hiking and mountain biking. Also it is here is located the biggest St. Bernard dogs Farm in the Alps.
