In Boddington, art trails, activities at Hotham Park and experiences on the Hotham River offer different discoveries. Hotham Park is located by the river; the Boddington Sculpture Trail also ends there, at a mosaic wall. If you enjoy combining outdoor art with exercise or activities on the water, the town offers several options to consider when planning your trip.

Sculptures and Murals Around Town

The Boddington Sculpture Trail runs from the entrance monument on Albany Highway to the mosaic wall in Hotham Park. Its two endpoints give the art trail a clear direction from the highway to the park. On this trail, you can make a point of seeing the sculptures and mosaic wall as stops during your stay.

The Boddington Mural Trail is laid out differently: this self-guided walk begins in Central Park, passes through the town centre and continues to murals around Hotham Park and the Visitor Centre. It thus connects the town centre with the artworks along the route. If you are particularly interested in murals, you can plan this as a separate discovery walk; the Sculpture Trail, by contrast, has clearly specified start and end points.

Exploring the Hotham River

The Ranford Pool River Trail is a 4 km return walk. It starts at Lions Weir in Boddington and follows the Hotham River to historic Ranford Pool. The distance refers to the return walk. Fishing, canoeing and birdwatching are possible along the way or along the stretch of river reached. This lets you combine the walk with a range of river activities, without needing to choose a different type of route.

Another river route is the Tullis Rail Trail. It runs from Boddington to Tullis Bridge along the Hotham River, passing through flat pastureland and wooded reserves. The trail is currently closed due to recent bushfires. Take this restriction into account when planning your outings.

Park, Play and Swimming

In addition to the mosaic wall, Hotham Park has a skatepark and a pump track. Both are designed for skating, cycling and scootering. The park’s playground includes swings, slides, climbing equipment and a flying fox. These specific amenities give families with children several ways to include exercise and play in their time in Boddington.

Boddington Public Swimming Pool adds a 25-metre outdoor pool and a wading pool to the outdoor activities. The facility also has large change rooms with showers and accessible amenities. If you would like to include a range of water and exercise options in your trip, you can consider this swimming pool alongside the trails and park amenities.

The park, playground and swimming pool offer further specific interests for outings.
