Arrawarra
Accommodation in Arrawarra
Arrawarra Headland and Arrawarra Beach offer views of Solitary Islands Marine Park. There are different ways to experience the coast: fishing, surfing or swimming at the beach, walking along rock pools, and exploring a section of the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk. When looking for a holiday apartment, it is therefore worth considering which aspect of your stay will be the deciding factor: water activities, exploring the shoreline or a walk with named endpoints.
Views and walks at the headland
Arrawarra Headland Reserve is part of Coffs Coast Regional Park. The reserve has concrete paths and a boardwalk with beach access. A walk on the concrete paths and access to the beach via the boardwalk offer two specific ways to spend time in the reserve. Arrawarra Headland and Arrawarra Beach also offer views of Solitary Islands Marine Park. The views and choice of walk offer different focuses for a day on the coast: you can consider whether to include views of the marine park, walks in the reserve or beach access in your plans.
Beach activities and discoveries
At Arrawarra Beach, you can walk along rock pools and look out for old Aboriginal fish traps and marine life. The walk combines movement along the shore with purposeful observation, making it different from the other available activities of fishing, surfing and swimming. Tides and beach conditions can affect your visit; take both into account when planning your day. This can help you decide whether to focus on water activities, exploring the rock pools, or both. From Arrawarra Beach, you can also walk across to Mullawarra Beach. This named destination makes the walk a different choice from walking along the rock pools: one focuses on continuing to another beach, while the other focuses on looking at details along the shore.
A section of the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk
The Solitary Islands Coastal Walk includes a 5.8-kilometre section from Arrawarra Beach to Safety Beach, rated Grade 3. The choices offer different points of focus: the walk to Mullawarra Beach centres on a named beach destination, while the Coastal Walk is about the route to Safety Beach, including its distance and rating. The length and rating may vary depending on beach conditions; take these conditions into account when planning.
A picnic break and finding accommodation
Arrawarra Beach also has a picnic area in a tree-lined park. It adds a place to take a break alongside the coastal activities, so a stay does not have to be all about activity on the beach or walking trails.
