Discover Caronport

Caronport brings together a history of flight training with parks, sports facilities and community activities. During the Second World War, the town was a British Commonwealth pilot-training base near the hamlet of Caron, at Caron Airport. Summer events and community life

Every summer, the Recreation Board holds “Caronport Day.” The program includes a parade, a 5K run, children’s races and other festivities. If you’re traveling specifically for the event or a race, check the dates in advance so you can better coordinate your visit with the actual event day.

There are community activities beyond this annual celebration, too: the Recreation Board initiates numerous programs throughout the year. In summer, it regularly uses the fields for community soccer programs. Dance classes run by the Conservatory of the Performing Arts were planned to take place in Caronport’s Skyline Room, but the days and times had not yet been set. For these classes, wait to schedule a specific time until the details are available.
