Beach Finds and Getting Around Rice Point

Rice Point Wharf Road runs through the settlement from the intersection with Route 19 to the end of the road and is 0.4 km long. Rice Point Beach is off Hennebury Road. Nearby, St. Peter's Island Lighthouse may be accessible from Rice Point at low tide. Check the tides: unlike the fixed road distance, this possibility depends on low-tide conditions.

The Mill is a large, two-storey building clad in wooden shingles, overlooking the River Clyde. Its significance includes its age, its longstanding connection to the history of New Glasgow, and its varied uses over the years.

Activities at Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale, in the central part of Queens County, also vary by season. In winter, options include Nordic and alpine skiing, snowboarding, fat biking, tubing, and snowshoeing. In spring, summer, and fall, mountain biking and hiking trails start at the Nordic Centre. The park also has 25 km of well-maintained trails with varied terrain, a training park, and a roller loop. Trail conditions can change, so check them before visiting.

For another active option, the Queens East ATV Club manages a trail network in the eastern part of Queens County. At the Pisquid Road crossing, the ATV trail network connects with the Confederation Trail. Check the applicable permits and trail conditions before setting out, as both can change.
