The Beausejour Daylily Gardens offer a different kind of nature experience. The garden covers two acres and features 600 daylily varieties. Its distinctive status sets it apart from an ordinary garden visit: it is considered the coldest AHS display garden in the world and the only AHS display garden in the Canadian Prairies. The large number of varieties and this special distinction make the garden a well-defined attraction for travelers interested in gardens and plants.

Trails and Traces of Railway History

The Rail Trail is a multi-use trail in the center of Beausejour, built along a former railway line. Its location on the old railbed connects its present-day use as a trail with the town’s railway history. Train Whistle Park is also home to a historic CP Rail caboose. The two sites offer different connections to the railway: one follows the former line as a trail, while the other features a historic railcar.

The Manitoba Glass Company Site is also connected with walking trails. It is located in a park-like area in Beausejour. It complements the nature trails of Wally Chryplywy Nature Park and the centrally located Rail Trail with another place where walking trails are part of the local landscape. Founded in 1967, the Pioneer Village Museum recreates a small rural Manitoba community from the early 20th century. Tourists have appreciated the murals on the walls and ceiling of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church since Leo Mol completed them in 1952. The sanctuary of Our Lady of La Salette is also located on the church grounds. Since its dedication on September 24, 1950, it has been the site of annual pilgrimages in September. Art and religious tradition are two distinct cultural aspects you can consider when planning your trip. Haystack Productions, an amateur theatre group from Beausejour, offers performing arts, producing plays, musicals and improvisational theatre.

Sports and Events

The Beausejour Sportsplex offers indoor and outdoor arenas, a curling rink and a running track. These facilities complement the walking and nature attractions with a range of sporting options. The C.P.T.C. Raceplex hosts the Canadian Power Toboggan Championship Races. The Double B Agricultural Festival takes place annually in early September.
