Brooks brings together a range of ideas for a stay: the Brooks & District Museum focuses on the way of life of early ranchers and historic buildings; there are also recreation trails, sports and community activities, and seasonal farm experiences. Museum and History

The Brooks & District Museum can be explored on a self-guided visit. Its artifacts include items that show the way of life of early ranchers. On the seven-acre grounds, a promenade also leads to historic buildings. A museum visit therefore combines exhibits with a walk outdoors, without requiring a guided program.

A striking exhibit is housed in the 1930s garage: a Ford A Roadster Coupé in pristine condition. Another historic landmark is the Former Engineer’s House. Its significance lies in its connection to the Canadian Pacific Railway and to the development of Brooks and the surrounding region. The CPR Engineer’s House in Evergreen Park was built in 1911 and can be used for events, meetings, festivals, weddings, and workshops.

Recreation Trails and Activity

The Lake Stafford Path is 2.25 km long. The paved trail is suitable for walking, jogging, cycling, inline skating, and walking a leashed dog. Lake Stafford also has a boat launch for non-motorized watercraft. This gives visitors a choice of different ways to be active during their stay: a loop on the trail or using the launch with a suitable watercraft.

The trail in Evergreen Park is listed as shorter, at 0.78 km. It is also paved and suitable for walking, cycling, jogging, inline skating, and walking a leashed dog. The two distances help you estimate the planned route; they do not indicate walking time or difficulty. The CPR Engineer’s House, built in 1911, can also be used for various events and gatherings in Evergreen Park.

Parks and Activities for Different Interests

Duke of Sutherland Park has a playground, a spray park, an outdoor fitness area, and two baseball fields. If you want to plan a day around different activities, you can take these options into account when choosing what to do. Veterans Park has a different focus: it is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of local veterans.

The JBS Canada Centre offers facilities and programs for all ages, with space for sports and community activities. Indoors, children can play, explore, and stay active year-round. Seasonal Farm Experiences

The Brooks Corn Maze combines a seasonal corn maze with farm activities. The maze’s design changes every year, so its theme varies from one season to the next. In summer, visitors can pick their own raspberries and see fresh farm produce.
