Zajmovo: Bridge over the White Drin
Accommodation in Zajmovo
Zajmovo can be understood through specific local landmarks: In Zajm, a national road bridge crosses the White Drin, while Kodra e Kuqe, a martyrs’ cemetery, is a place of remembrance. A municipal green space adds another local feature. For a broader view of the municipality of Klinë, there is also the Mirusha waterfall complex. These different aspects can help you distinguish between the local setting, remembrance and landscape when choosing a holiday apartment.
The bridge over the White Drin
The national road bridge in Zajm is on the Prishtinë–Pejë road and crosses the White Drin. The municipal development plan for 2025–2033 gives its length as 84 metres and its width as 9.30 metres. A ratio of approximately nine to one gives an idea of the structure as a long crossing. It is the only bridge on a national road within the municipality of Klinë. This makes it possible to distinguish the bridge not only by the waterway it crosses, but also by its place in the municipality’s road network: it connects the area’s association with the river to a specific position in the municipal road system.
Mirusha as part of the landscape of the municipality of Klinë
The Mirusha waterfall complex offers a broader view of the municipality of Klinë: it lies in its southern and southwestern part and covers 200 hectares. The area is a protected reserve. Its rich variety of plant and animal life, along with opportunities for tourism development, gives this landscape its own distinct character. The scale is important when planning a trip: Mirusha broadens the picture of the municipality, while the bridge in Zajm remains a precisely identified local feature. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can consider whether Zajm’s local character or the wider landscape of Klinë should shape your stay more.
Remembrance in Zajm
Kodra e Kuqe in Zajm is a martyrs’ cemetery and a specifically named place of remembrance. Commemorative ceremonies in memory of Ali A. Berisha, as well as Ramiz J. Berisha, Musli J. Berisha, Agim B. Gashi and Agron H. Gashi, were scheduled there for 11 a.m. on 14 March 2025. This date is in the past and is not a current event announcement. If you include Kodra e Kuqe in your travel plans, check access before visiting. The cemetery offers a different focus from the bridge: remembrance is central here.
A landscaped municipal green space
A municipal green-space project in Zajm was completed in 2024. It included an area with footpaths, low and tall greenery, seating, lighting and a rainwater drainage channel. These features combine paths and plantings with seating areas and technical rainwater management. This landscaped green space differs from the expansive landscape around Mirusha: here, the focus is on specific elements of a municipal outdoor space, while there, it is on a protected area with diverse wildlife and plant life. If you would like to visit the green space, check access and the condition of the site beforehand.
