Turksib: Holiday Apartments and Vacation Homes

A commemorative plaque at the railway station identifies it as the place where construction of the Turkestan–Siberia Railway began between 1927 and 1930. The official opening of the construction took place on November 21, 1927, at Lugovoy railway station. Turksib railway station regained its historical name in 2020 after the former Lugovaya railway station was officially renamed Түрксіб.

The station is also connected with the story of Zabira Yusupova: at the end of 1939, she was transferred as a locomotive driver to what is now Turksib railway station. The main Turksib line stretched for approximately 1,500 kilometers and was opened for through traffic in 1930, when its rails were connected. Regular train service on the Turksib Railway began on May 1, 1930.

The historic Turksib route is described as a line approximately 1,445 kilometers long running from Semey via Ayagoz, Aktogay, Almaty, Shokpar, and Shu to Lugovoy. Subsequently, Lugovoy railway station became a junction for three railway lines.

Trains passing through Turksib railway station provide rail connections to Astana, Almaty, Taraz, and Bishkek. The locality also has 4,000 meters of pedestrian paths. A comprehensive renovation of Turksib railway station and improvements to the surrounding area have begun; the stated aim is to create a more comfortable environment for passengers.
