History

The Patara Tsemi Sanatorium was founded in 1904 by the physician Vakhtang Gambashidze and his father. The sanatorium treated children aged 8 to 16 with tuberculosis. The Borjomi-Bakuriani Railway includes the Tsemi-Tsaghveri Bridge and a railway station with railway buildings in Tsemi. This railway serves holidaymakers, ski enthusiasts, and tourists.

A municipal public transport route operates in both directions between Borjomi, Sadgeri, Tba, and Tsemi.
