Martvili Canyon Natural Monument is located near Martvili. On the way up to the Martvili Monastery Complex, visitors can buy embroidery, candles, and souvenirs made by local nuns. A performance of Shakespeare's “The Merchent of Venice” was first presented in Martvili in 1873. Salome Dadiani-Murat is described as the first female winemaker and came from Martvili.

Wine and Local Tradition

Martvili is described as an important region for Megrelian viticulture due to its history and natural conditions. Nearby, in Salkhino, the Dadiani summer residence has wine cellars and Megrelian Ojaleshi vineyards. Visitors to Salkhino can taste Ojaleshi wines of different ages, visit the Dadiani Residence Palace, and camp nearby.
