Juta: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

From Juta, a moderately difficult hiking route leads over the Chiukhi Pass to the White, Blue and Green Abudelauri Lakes. The Juta section includes a river crossing, steep slopes and approximately 9 km of trail to the pass.

The Juta–Chiukhi Pass–Abudelauri Lakes–Roshka route connects the regions of Khevsureti and Kazbegi; it can be started in either Juta or Roshka.

Hiking

A footpath from Juta leads towards the Chiukhi Massif. The trail from Juta to the Chiukhi Massif passes by Juti Lake. The Chiukhi Massif offers routes in various categories and levels of difficulty.

A hike from Juta to Juta Waterfall takes approximately 1–1.5 hours in one direction; the time may vary depending on pace and trail conditions. The trail passes through alpine meadows and along small mountain streams before ending with a rocky, steep ascent.

The Chiukhi Massif is used by hikers, mountaineers, rock climbers and winter sports enthusiasts.

Landscape

The protected areas of Pshav-Khevsureti feature the Chaukhi mountain system as a prominent landscape feature. The Chiukhi Massif has peaks more than 3,500 metres high.

The Sno River flows through Juta and forms waterfalls on its way to the Terek.

Orientation

The route branches off the Tbilisi–Stepantsminda road into the Sno Valley and continues to the end of the valley. Juta is the last village in the valley.

Accommodation

Juta has camping areas and a modern hotel for overnight stays.
