Geographical Location
Montherod is a locality in the municipality of Aubonne, in the Morges District, in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland.
The locality lies at approximately 593 metres above sea level; its elevation ranges from 522 to 692 metres.
Nature
Montherod is a farming village on a plateau above the Vaud Côte, west of the deeply cut Aubonne Valley.
The former municipal area also included the area around the Armary stream, the Sandoleyre Valley, the Bois des Soules forest, the Saubrette Valley and the Aubonne; near La Vaux, the Aubonne is dammed to form a small pond.
In the former municipal area, 46 percent of the land was covered by forest and 48 percent was used for agriculture.
