History
Vico Morcote has been inhabited since Roman times and was first mentioned in 1022 under the name Vico Morcao.
Until 1588, Vico Morcote was politically united with Morcote.
Getting there
Minor roads connect Vico Morcote with Carona, Melide and Morcote. Melide railway station is 4 km to the northeast and is served by the Bellinzona–Lugano–Chiasso line of the Swiss Federal Railways.
