Geographical Setting

The Reiat district is located in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen, covers 39.33 km², and ranges from 391 to 705 metres above sea level.

The landscape of Reiat consists of a plateau northeast of Schaffhausen and adjoining hilly country oriented towards the Biber.

The Reiat Trail is an easy, 19-kilometre circular route through the characteristic hilly country, meadows, fields, vineyards, and mixed forest. If you would like to experience Reiat on foot, this provides a clearly defined hike.

The Reiat Trail offers views of the German Hegau landscape with its extinct volcanoes, as well as views of the Alps on the Swiss side.
