Bonfol: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Chapelle de Saint-Fromont gives Bonfol a distinctive cultural connection: it was built in 1866 by the Bonfol parish and is dedicated to Saint Fromond. The day after Ascension Day, a pilgrimage with a procession leads from the church via a spring crowned by a statue, through fields and forests to the chapel.

Saint Fromond has been venerated since the beginning of the 17th century; significant pilgrimages extended from the Doubs to Alsace. Ceramics are also part of the village’s history. The Musée de la poterie de Bonfol presents the artisanal and industrial activities associated with Bonfol’s multicoloured clay, which was used for ceramics over several centuries. In March 2014, the museum was expanded with an interactive space that illustrates the machines and techniques involved in the transition from artisanal to industrial ceramic production and is intended for courses and workshops.
