Vella Gr: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Senda culturala Lumnezia is an easy 7.5-kilometre cultural trail that begins and ends in Vella. The Senda includes more than 30 historical boundary stones and three information boards about the flora and fauna of the wetlands. Information boards also provide information about the valley’s history, culture, geology, fauna and flora.

Culture
The history of Pleif dates back to the Bronze Age: a settlement already existed there at that time, and the first documented church building can be dated to around 800.
The Chapel of Sogn Roc e Sogn Bistgaun stands in Vella’s village square. It was donated by Land Judge Gallus von Mont during a plague epidemic and consecrated in 1592. On the occasion of its renovation and enlargement, Alois Carigiet designed the façade in 1940; it depicts Christopher and Mauritius. Inside, there is a small winged altar depicting members of the de Mont family.
A guided cultural hike through Lumnezia begins in Vella with an introduction to the history of the valley and the former ruling de Mont family. In the valley church of Pleif, visitors can see an impressive painting of the Battle of Lepanto.
The palatial Casti de Mont stands in the middle of the village of Vella, next to the chapel. After a fire, it was rebuilt by Margaretha von Mont in 1666; it has been a listed monument since 1982.
Trails
The Grosse Lumnezia loop is a 33.11-kilometre gravel tour that begins in Vella. An easy hike leads from Vella to Lake Davos Munts, located above Vattiz. Along this route are around 30 historical boundary stones providing information about important events in Val Lumnezia.
The Vella–Triel–Vella circular hike leads through forests and alpine meadows, where you may spot marmots with a little luck. It reaches the Triel mid-station, offering sweeping views across Lumnezia.
Winter
Below the village of Vella, in the direction of Pleif Church, there is a nearly 2-kilometre cross-country skiing loop prepared for skating and classic technique. The signposted Tschanabrels snowshoe trail begins at the Bual football pitch in Vella and continues via Sasuz and the Vattiz forest to Tschanabrels. Snowshoe equipment can be rented at Menzli Sport in Vella.
