Schleuis, referred to as Schluein, belongs to the Surselva region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
The preserved Mulin Sura, the upper mill, was used for pounding barley and millet.
Schleuis has a documented historical tradition of milling and sawing: the lower mill stood below the main road, and a saw powered by an additional waterwheel was in operation from the 19th century until around 1950.
The village lies at an altitude of approximately 762 metres above sea level; its elevation ranges from 671 to 1,374 metres.
