Tartar: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
St. Stephen’s Church in Tartar was first mentioned in 1505. During the 1996 restoration, it received a small Kuhn organ from Männedorf with three stops, a shingle roof and a striking clock mechanism in the tower.

The Cazis Cultural Archive collects cultural objects and writings from municipal collections and private households and makes them accessible to the public.
The Tartar Tower Clock Museum displays more than 50 mechanically sound and functional tower clocks. The Tartar Tower Clock Museum will remain closed until further notice; visiting on the hour allows you to experience a carillon there.
Getting around
The Tartar Tower Clock Museum is located at Kirchgasse 11 in 7422 Tartar. Visitors to the Tartar Tower Clock Museum should use the car park at the entrance to the village, as there are no parking spaces at the museum. Tartar can be reached by PostBus route 90.532 between Thusis and Präz.
The Cazis Cultural Archive is open every last Saturday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Tartar Town Hall. Small groups can visit the Cazis Cultural Archive outside regular opening hours by registering in advance by telephone at +41 79 419 31 65.
Nature
The barbecue area at the Tartar shooting range is located by a small pond and a stream and has a sheltered shelter.
Cycling
The Cazis Mitte circular route can be started and ended at any point. It runs along the waterways on the Heinzenberg through shady, cooling forest sections and leads to Tartar and through Tartar to the turn-off to Vallar. The circular route also passes through the Porteiner Gorge, with a single trail and sections where bikes must be pushed, as far as Oberi Baria.
