Cunter: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cunter is a locality in the municipality of Surses, in the Albula Region of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The village lies on the right bank of the Julia. The former municipal area comprised 355 ha of forest and woodland, 230 ha of agricultural land, predominantly alpine pastures, 108 ha of unproductive, mostly mountainous land, and 18 ha of settlement area.
Landscape
The peaks of Crap la Massa and Piz Mitgel are located in the immediate vicinity of Cunter. The peaks of Crap Farreras and Piz Martegnas are also part of the area surrounding Cunter.
Culture
In the wider regional area around Cunter are Rietberg Castle and Paspels Castle, both fortified castles. Above Cunter, in Caschligns, there is a Bronze Age settlement dating from the 12th century BC, which presumably represents the earliest route connection to the Albula Valley.
Experiences
The easy, 1.8 km Cunter–Badogna–Lareschs–Savognin walk begins in Cunter, leads through a larch forest to the Lareschs playground, and continues to Savognin. The Lareschs playground on the path between Cunter and Savognin offers wooden elements for balancing and climbing, slides, swings, and a barbecue area with firewood.
The Chur Animal and Leisure Park, a zoo, is also located in the wider regional area around Cunter.
Getting There
Cunter can be reached by the Rhaetian Railway or PostBus to Tiefencastel, followed by a PostBus connection.
