Rönninge – Discover Swimrun, Art and Nature

Rönninge combines sporting experiences, art in the townscape and nature-oriented destinations around Lake Uttran. Swimrun and trails around Uttran

A special point of interest is the Rönninge Swimrun. The start and finish are at Toredalsvägen 15 by the Bubblan multisport facility. There are a red, a green and a yellow route to choose from. They are approximately 2.1, 4.3 and 6.0 kilometres long, respectively. The different distances allow you to adapt your sporting plans to your own daily schedule without deriving a specific walking or running time from the information. Another starting point is at Garnuddsvägen 35 by the tennis hall.

The surroundings of Rönninge also offer a different way to discover the area. In the wider vicinity lies the Garnudden nature reserve on Lake Uttran. There you will find reeds, cliffs and waterside forests. The foundations of the former Garnudden croft are also located in the nature reserve. The area can be reached by car, bicycle or on foot. A footpath and cycle path to Möllebadet runs along the shore of Lake Uttran from Rönninge through Garnudden.

Möllebadet is located in Uttran and is the only public bathing area in Salem Municipality. The bathing area includes jetties and a bathing ramp.

Works of art in the townscape

Rönninge can also be explored through several works in public spaces. At the station is the sculptural installation “Handen som gör honnör”, made of painted wood veneer. In the centre, “Mina paradisfåglar” is also located at the roundabout, a work of art in a public space. Linda Shamma created it in 2017 from sheet metal and glass.

In the very centre of Rönninge, the mosaic “Lotusblomman” is located on the brick wall of a residential building. The work is also a greeting to the water lilies in nearby Lake Flaten. A tour of the town thus creates a transition between the station, the streetscape and the residential surroundings. Those travelling with different interests can combine cultural impressions with an excursion to the lake or into nature.
