The official visitor information for Danderyd covers culture, sports, outdoor activities, playgrounds and attractions. Danderyd has two nature reserves, parks, lakes, sports facilities and a diverse cultural offering.

Nature and trails

Roslagsleden begins next to the junction of Edsbergsvägen and Enebybergsvägen in Danderyd and is 190 kilometres long. Its starting point is within walking distance of Mörby centrum metro station; the trail leads to Rinkebyskogen. Rinkebyskogen is the largest contiguous woodland area in Danderyd. There, visitors can walk along numerous paths, hiking trails and fitness trails. Rinkebyskogen Nature Reserve can be reached by bus from stops along Edsbergsvägen and Enebybergsvägen.

Mörbylund also offers its own landscape perspective: elevated viewpoints there overlook Värtan, Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace.

Culture and history

The Nora-Ekeby cultural trail is an approximately 6-kilometre archaeological and cultural-historical circular route. It can be explored on foot or by bicycle along existing roads and paths. The Nora-Ekeby cultural trail describes a total of 28 different stations or sites.

Danderyd Church reflects a long ecclesiastical history. It has served as a parish and community church since the 15th century and houses medieval art treasures from the 12th to the 14th century. Djursholm Castle acquired its present appearance in the 17th century and can be rented for weddings, conferences and other events.

Construction of the Djursholm Water Tower began in 1890. Since 1974, the water tower has housed Danderyd's association archive. Djursholm's villastad provides another historical accent: it was laid out around 1889–1890 as the first affluent villa district outside Stockholm and includes buildings in various architectural styles dating from 1890 to the present day. A walk through Djursholm's villastad draws attention to several successive phases of architectural development.

Parks and meeting places

Cedergrenska Park includes an arboretum with exotic conifers. It also contains a garden section with 50 different varieties of fruit trees. Cedergrenska Tower was built using traditional craftsmanship and old techniques.

Svanholmsparken has a playground, a volleyball court, a barbecue area and toilets. Visitors can learn about the park's long history from historical signs.

Art and events

The “Upptäck konsten” app allows visitors to explore eleven public artworks in Danderyd on self-guided art walks. The app provides information about the artists and the artworks.

Danderydsgården hosts concerts as well as art and photography exhibitions, with a focus on cultural activities for children. The large event space at Danderydsgården can be rented for cultural activities and concerts. Danderydsgården is located at Noragårdsvägen 27, five minutes by bus or a 15-minute walk from Mörby centrum.
