Naturum Blekinge is located in the Ronneby Brunnspark cultural reserve. It offers information, exhibitions and activities for the whole family. The exhibitions cover topics ranging from Ronneby Brunnspark, the Bräkneån Valley, Blekinge’s sea, coast and archipelago to ARK56 and outdoor life in Blekinge.
Naturum Blekinge can be reached by train or bus to Ronneby Travel Centre. From there, it is about a ten-minute walk to the park and Naturum.
Culture
Ronneby Brunnspark originated as a spa resort in the early 18th century. Today, it encompasses 25 listed buildings and covers 100 hectares. Kulturcentrum Ronneby Konsthall presents 10 to 15 exhibitions every year featuring regional, national and international contemporary art, design and crafts. There are also opportunities to try enamelling, textiles, graphics and risography.
The northern art gallery of Kulturcentrum Ronneby houses an open workshop. Visitors can work creatively there using the provided materials and tools. Heliga Kors kyrka provides another historical highlight: its oldest parts date from the late 12th century, and it was completed in the 15th century. It houses Blekinge’s largest collection of Renaissance art and is considered the city’s only surviving medieval building from the 13th century.
Möllebackagården is located in Ronneby’s cultural district. It is a local heritage museum with preserved interiors. The oldest part was built in the late 18th century and served as a residence for various mill owners for one hundred years. Möllebackagården is open to the public in summer.
Maritime history is also present. The flagship of Danish King Hans, the Gribshunden, sank off the coast of Ronneby in the summer of 1495. Kallvattenkuren in Ronneby presents authentic finds from the ship and the story behind the wreck.
Nature and Trails
South of the town of Ronneby, near Brunnspark, lies the Södra Brunnsskogen nature reserve. It comprises a larger continuous woodland area with broadleaf trees and older pine forest and serves as a walking area close to the town. The trails continue a short distance south towards the coast.
The RonnebySlingor circular route starts and ends at Naturum. It passes through Ronneby town centre and nature reserves, by Bronze Age burial mounds and to Ronneby harbour. Ekorrestigen is a 1.2-kilometre family trail through the forest, where visitors can discover animals and plants. The Gribshundsleden route is named after the 15th-century Danish warship Gribshunden and passes the site where the shipwreck was found.
Water
Ronneby Brunnsbad, an outdoor water adventure park, is located in the heart of Ronneby Brunnspark. Facilities include the 93-metre-long Magic Hole slide, a 25-metre pool for training and swimming, channels, coves, a lagoon and a lazy river.
Ronneby Live provides a map view of bathing spots, current events, hiking trails, water temperatures and playgrounds. The Ronnebyån offers a 70-kilometre route for canoeing and kayaking through dense forest. The Karlsnäsgården–Ronneby section is considered a classic final section on the Ronnebyån.
Golf
Ronneby Golfklubb has a gently undulating 18-hole course in natural surroundings. The club also includes a practice area, a restaurant and a pro shop. Play is possible upon payment of a green fee or in accordance with a valid membership and playing permit.
Practical Information
Ronneby Brunnspark is freely accessible to the public. Next to Äggaboden Gårdsbutik, a restaurant serves seasonal dishes made with regional ingredients.
