Landscape and location

Vlčkovce is located in the fertile Danubian Lowland, at the transition between the subregions of the hilly country and the Danubian Plain. The village is 10 kilometres from Trnava; from there, Vlčkovce can be reached by public bus in 10 minutes.

Anyone looking to rent a holiday apartment in Vlčkovce thereby considers the village as a specific destination when planning their accommodation.

The natural area includes the protected Vlčkovský háj near the left bank of the Dudváh, on the boundary between the cadastral areas of Vlčkovce and Majcichov. A relic of an oak-elm-ash floodplain forest grows there and is protected because it is home to endangered plant and animal species. Vlčkovský háj also has a rich population of snowdrops, a spring-flowering plant from the amaryllis family.

Culture and history

The Church of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was built in 1930 based on a design by the architect Michal Milan Harminc. The single-nave building has a transept and an asymmetrically positioned western tower; its exterior is inspired by Romanesque architecture. The present church stands on the site of an older church, from which several sculptures and paintings were transferred to its interior.

Fraňo Štefunko, a sculptor and visual artist born in Vlčkovce, was awarded the title of “National Artist” for his life's work in 1968. His works can be seen, among other places, in the municipal office and the primary school; they include a statue of Peter Michal Bohúň.

The Retzer family mill has a history dating back to the 16th century. The former sugar factory complex in Vlčkovce dates from 1925. Vidiecky dom Vlčkovce was ceremonially opened and made accessible to the public on 6 October 2017.

The traditional event “Jedlá starých materí” also reached its 22nd edition in 2026. Wine tastings are among the traditional activities in Vlčkovce.

The traditional Vlčkovský Silvestrovský beh zdravia took place on 31 December 2025 in its eighth edition. The race started and finished in the Vlčkovce sports complex; the route for adults led through the streets of Vlčkovce.
