The municipality of Vinohrady Nad Váhom is located in the Danubian Lowland on the western edge of the Nitra Hills. The western part of the municipality lies in the broad floodplain on the left bank of the Váh. The southwest-facing slopes of the village are planted with grapevines.

Nature
The Dubník National Nature Reserve, NPR Dubník, lies within the cadastral territory of Vinohrady nad Váhom; part of it extends into the cadastral territories of Dvorníky, Pusté Sady and Zemianske Sady. NPR Dubník is an ornithological site protecting the little owl. In a deforested landscape, it preserves a rare and unique remnant of a natural forest community from the group of southeastern European forests, including protected species.
History and Culture
The settlement of Rautz, later called Svätá Chrasť, is mentioned in the Zobor Charter of King Coloman dating from before 1 September 1113. Rauzt, later called Svätá Chrasť, belonged to a Benedictine abbey.
The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is a building in the Late Renaissance and Baroque styles dating from the mid-17th century; it was first mentioned in writing in 1695. Historically, it was popular as a pilgrimage church. The Chapel of St Urban was built in 1728 and was also a pilgrimage site.
Traditional wine-cellar structures known as “hajlochy” have been preserved in the village. These three-room buildings, made of clay and whitewashed, have a single-axis façade and a thatched gabled roof.
Wine
Viticulture, grape growing and winemaking for personal use have a long tradition in Vinohrady nad Váhom. VÍNO CHUDÝ offers guided expert wine tastings in a tasting room. The room normally accommodates 16 people and, after adjustments, up to 30 people.
Routes and Activities
Cycle route 5212 is a 20.8 km-long, easy recreational cycling route for road traffic with an asphalt surface. As a green cycle route, it passes through Vinohrady nad Váhom on the way from Hlohovec to Sereď.
The educational trail “Náučný chodník Hlohoveckými vinohradmi” leads to Vinohrady nad Váhom and the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It is 22.3 km long and has an elevation gain of 150 m. The area around Vinohrady nad Váhom offers good conditions for hiking and water sports.
