Holiday apartment in Rybany: Round village, chapels and church

Rybany reveals its distinctive character in a clearly recognizable townscape and in a remarkable density of sacred architectural and furnishing elements. Culture

The cultural character of Rybany also includes a typical folk costume. The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary contains a late Baroque altar from the 18th century. Its furnishings include a painting of the Assumption of Mary and a smaller statue of the Pietà. A bell dating from 1519 hangs in the tower of the same church.

Another prominent site is the Snímania z kríža Chapel. It stands in the cemetery of Rybany and is registered as a national cultural monument under number 12135/1. The building is a late Baroque sacred structure from the 18th century with a rounded end, a small roof turret with a gabled roof and a cross-ribbed vault. In 1969, the chapel's interior was documented as containing an altar of the Descent from the Cross dating from the late 19th century.

Nature

Rybany lies on the left bank of the Bebrava River. Its location by the river complements the townscape defined by the round village and historic buildings with a clear connection to the surrounding landscape.

Getting there

Rybany can be reached via Road II/592. There is also a connection via the Trenčín–Chynorany railway line. Thus, the road and railway are identified as two different transport routes for travelling to the town.
