Holiday apartment in Pastovce: River Landscape and History on the Ipeľ
Pastovce is located in the Ipeľská pahorkatina on the Ipeľ’s wet right-bank floodplain. On one side, the Ipeľ River encloses the village centre in a semicircular bend, while the Čárad stream borders the other side of the village centre.
History and Culture
The first written mention of Pastovce dates back to 1135, when the village was referred to as Paztuh. Archaeological finds reach even further back, providing evidence of a Neolithic settlement of the Lengyel culture in Pastovce. An important figure associated with the village is Zsigmond Zalabai: the eminent writer and literary historian born in Pastovce is commemorated there with a memorial house.
The historical buildings include the Reformed Church of Pastovce. It was originally built in the 12th century as a Romanesque manorial gallery church. In the 15th century, it received a Gothic polygonal presbytery. In front of the church, the municipal administration had a carved memorial pillar erected to mark the 150th anniversary of the 1848–1849 battles.
A more recent event also forms part of the village’s history: the children’s and family day Deň detí a rodiny took place in Pastovce on 3 June 2023.
Nature and Activities
Farkas Valley is a gorge approximately 300 m long and 30 m deep, containing prehistoric fossils. The village also has a pond that is a popular recreational spot for anglers. For cycling, the Ipeľská cyklomagistrála 009 is classified as an easy recreational mountain-biking route.

Practical Planning
When considering a holiday apartment in Pastovce, compare the exact location, type of accommodation and possible occupancy on the respective listing pages. Also pay attention to included services, individual price components, and booking and cancellation conditions. Especially when comparing different holiday apartments or holiday homes, looking at the specific terms provides an objective basis before you decide on an offer. The scope of what is included in the price should also be clearly stated. Check whether occupancy for the intended period is specified unambiguously and whether additional costs are shown separately from the basic price. When it comes to cancellation, it is worth checking the deadlines and any applicable conditions. This keeps the differences between the offers transparent, without inferring characteristics of an individual holiday apartment or holiday home from features of the location. The published conditions for the selected travel period and the desired occupancy are decisive.
