The Ľudový dom in Čata dates from 1896, preserves elements of folk architecture and still has an iron fence made in 1930. Its original furnishings come from a traditional Čata living room, known as the “clean room”. The rear room, which has been converted into a museum, contains a still-functioning loom as well as accessories such as a spinning wheel and spindle. The Ľudový dom is intended to give young people tangible evidence of the past and spark their interest in how their ancestors lived. It also displays works made from corn leaves by the local craftswoman Bajkai Mária.
