Nature
The Orava Reservoir provides a habitat for fish and, in particular, waterfowl.
The Klinské Peat Bog is a national nature reserve in the Horná Orava Protected Landscape Area and a well-preserved, unforested raised bog fed exclusively by precipitation.
The Slaná voda peat bog covers 108 ha and can be visited via a wooden footbridge. Slaná voda, at the foot of Babia Hora, features an iodine-bromine saltwater spring and one of the best-preserved peat bogs in Slovakia.

Hiking trails lead from Sihelné, Mútne and Oravské Veselé to the summit of Pilsko.
Pilsko is part of the Horná Orava Protected Landscape Area; the Polish section is part of the Pilsko Nature Reserve. From the summit of Pilsko, there are views of Babia Hora, the Tatras, the Choč Mountains, the Lesser Fatra and Poland.
The Orava Snow winter sports center in Oravská Lesná has two lifts and seven ski slopes with a total length of 8.5 km. Orava Snow offers 5 km of cross-country ski trails.
