The park contains surviving old trees, including Abies concolor, Fagus sylvatica ‘Atropurpureum’, Platanus x acerifolia, Taxus baccata and Quercus robur. These names make the specific tree collection a distinctive feature of this historic place. It is worth keeping the time frame in mind: the figure of 4 ha describes the park’s original size. Its creation at the beginning of the 19th century also marks a different period in history from the church, which was built later. Those interested in history will therefore find in Oświno not only the lakeshore, but also a subject connected with the former manor and its surviving trees.

The church and cemetery grounds

The church in Oświno was built around 1880 on a rectangular plan, using fieldstone and brick. Its design and materials provide a specific architectural description. The churchyard forms a quadrangle of about 0.2 ha, with the church at its centre. The building and surrounding grounds are clearly defined spatially here. Another cemetery in Oświno was established in the first half of the 19th century. It lies at the southern edge of the settlement and covers about 0.3 ha. The opening hours of the municipal cemetery are a separate detail: visitors can visit it 24 hours a day, from 1 January to 31 December. These historical dates distinguish the cemetery grounds and the church from the more recent history of the settlement and help place the different sites in context.
