Church ruin and cycling route in Tarnówko

The yellow cycling route passes the stone church tower ruin in Tarnówko. The three-storey tower is a remnant of a 15th-century church. Low fragments of the nave’s outer walls have also survived from the original structure; they reach only about 40 to 50 centimetres in height. The tower was originally attached to the west wall of the nave. The contrast between the surviving tower and the low wall fragments makes the site especially interesting for anyone wishing to take in historic architecture while on a cycling trip.

In the wider Goleniów travel area, the yellow cycling route follows paved roads through the forests of Puszcza Goleniowska; a short section runs along a surfaced forest track. A 45-kilometre green cycling route passes through Goleniów, Żdzary, Łaniego, Krępsko, Miękowo, Żółwią Błoć, Niewiadowo, Glewice, Stacja PKP Mosty, Burowo and Mosty. A green PTTK hiking trail, the Szlak Borów Goleniowskich, is 17.1 kilometres long and runs between Krzewno, Łęsko, Pucko and Kliniska Wielkie; it is particularly recommended for hikers and cyclists. Architectural history and routes in Goleniów

Goleniów also offers cultural and historical points of interest in the wider Goleniów travel area. Brama Wolińska, also known as Brama Chrobrego, is a fortified gate built in the 14th century in the Gothic style. It is 26 metres high and has six storeys. Significant sections of the medieval city walls have survived; the most interesting and best-preserved section lies southwest of the Old Town, beside the Ina.

The Ina River flows through the municipality of Goleniów and the town of Goleniów. On its bank is the Goleniowska Aleja Legend, a promenade renovated in 2013, with granite sculptures depicting local legends. If you are planning a town-focused excursion in addition to cycling, the Miejski Szlak Turystyczny offers another thematic option: the route takes you to historic buildings and places of interest in Goleniów and is marked with blue footprints.

Nature and water in the wider travel area

The protected landscapes in Goleniów also differ in character. The Wilcze Uroczysko nature reserve covers just under 63 hectares and extends across the municipalities of Goleniów and Stepnica. It protects a marshland area and valuable riparian forests; the area also serves as a refuge for white-tailed eagles. Established in 1973, the Uroczysko Święta nature reserve covers 9.5 hectares and protects part of a broadleaf forest in the Goleniów Forest District as a floristic reserve.
