Stare Kaleńsko: Lakeside bathing area and cycling routes

Stare Kaleńsko offers a clear choice between time by the lake and longer trips through the surrounding area. The Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji „Stare Kaleńsko“ is located in the forest by Lake Kaleńsko; its grounds include a bathing area during the 2026 swimming season. Several described cycling and hiking routes pass through the village, while other circular cycling routes start and end in Czaplinek. This distinction helps you consider swimming time, route profiles and your choice of accommodation together.

Swimming and a stay at the OSiR

Guests of the Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji „Stare Kaleńsko“ have access to a supervised bathing area, mini golf, a sauna, and rentals of water sports equipment and touring bikes. Other facilities include sports courts, a fitness room, billiards and an air rifle range. Please confirm with the operator before booking whether these facilities are currently available. They are reserved for guests of the centre. The OSiR is open seasonally from April to October; outside this period, it also operates for organised groups.

The main building has 80 to 110 overnight places, and the holiday cottages have 120 places. Capacity figures may change; confirm them and the current availability of guest facilities with the operator before booking. This makes it possible to distinguish a stay at the OSiR from looking for a holiday apartment as a different type of accommodation, without conflating the different travel options.

Cycling routes through Stare Kaleńsko and regional circuits

The red „Drawa“ circular cycling route is 60.7 km long and starts and ends in Złocieniec. It passes through Bobrowo, Kaleńsko Górne, Nowe Kaleńsko, Stare Kaleńsko, Wrzoski and Siemczyno. Both details are useful for planning: the route passes through the village, but its start and finish are in Złocieniec. The route description dates from 2019; check current trail conditions before setting out.

From Żelisławie, a paved path leads through Stare Kaleńsko past the holiday centre; the green and black cycling routes run along it. After about 4 km, you reach a railway crossing. Beyond it, Lake Krzemno, known for its lobelia, is visible on the left. It is also advisable to check current route conditions before cycling this path.

In the wider surrounding region, two more circular cycling routes start and end at the market square in Czaplinek: the black „Lobeliowe jeziora“ route, at 33.3 km, and the green „Dobrzyca“ route, at 45.1 km. Both therefore have the same start and finish point; the black circuit is 11.8 km shorter. This offers a clear comparison by route length without equating the two routes with the Drawa circuit that passes through Stare Kaleńsko.

An unmarked circuit around Lake Drawsko

Another type of trip is the approximately 46 km hiking and cycling route around Lake Drawsko. It is not marked and combines existing hiking and cycling paths. The route passes through Czaplinek, Kołomąt, Stare Drawsko, Kuźnica Drawska, Kluczewo, Bolegorzyn, Warniłęg, Rzepowo, Głęboczek, Siemczyno and Żelisławie, as well as through Stare Kaleńsko, before returning to Czaplinek. At about 46 km, it is shorter than the 60.7 km red circuit; it also differs in being unmarked and combining hiking and cycling.
