Lake Kalwa and the cycling route

Dzika Plaża bathing area is located in Pasym on Lake Kalwa. Its shoreline is 35 metres long. At this point, the lake reaches a maximum depth of 31.7 metres; its average depth is 7 metres. The site is used for recreation and has a bathing pier. These measurements give you a concrete point of reference if you are considering the bathing area as one of the main focuses of your stay. At the same time, the lake itself remains part of Pasym’s landscape of lakes and forests.

If you prefer to get around on two wheels, the yellow-marked Pajtuński Młyn cycling route offers a 35-kilometre loop. It passes through the municipalities of Pasym and Purda and both starts and ends in Pasym. The route is therefore described as a circular ride, and its length can be factored into your day’s plans. The locality of Pajtuński Młyn lies halfway along the route. The cycling route thus connects Pasym and Purda within a clearly defined itinerary, without requiring you to plan a different place for your start and finish.

Townscape and history

Pasym Town Hall stands in the middle of the market square. Built in 1855, it was modelled on Babelsberg Palace and designed in the English Gothic Revival style. Its location, date of construction and architectural inspiration make the town hall a notable landmark if you are interested in the town’s architecture. Fragments of the medieval defensive walls have also been preserved in Pasym. Dating from the second half of the 15th century, they provide another, considerably older point of reference for the town’s history.

Pasym’s town park is home to a water tower built in 1910–1911. The town hall, fragments of the defensive walls and the water tower represent different historical landmarks: a 19th-century town hall, parts of a late-medieval fortification and a water tower dating from 1910–1911.

Church, museum and music

The Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Pasym houses a parish museum in its sacristy. Items there include liturgical vessels, coats of arms belonging to former town guilds and old books associated with parish life. The collection thus offers insights into different areas: religious practice, the town’s former guild system and community life. The church also hosts a regular summer concert series featuring organ music each year. Getting there

Pasym is located on national road DK53 between Olsztyn and Ostrołęka. Pasym railway station is three kilometres from the town centre, on the Olsztyn–Szczytno railway line.
