Cycling routes with different itineraries
The municipality’s red-marked cycling route No. 5 is 32 kilometres long. It passes through Lidzbark Warmiński, Łabno, Jarandowo, Kochanówka, Suryty, Blanki, the Ośrodek “Świteź” and Medyny, before returning to Lidzbark Warmiński. Suryty is therefore part of the route described; the places listed give you concrete points of reference for this tour.
Another cycling loop is about 30 kilometres long. It passes through Kraszewo, Jarandowo and Lidzbark Warmiński; the return to Suryty runs through Medyny, Kłębowo, Lake Symsar and Blanki. The two routes differ in length, waypoints and return destination. When comparing tours for your stay, you can consider whether the route via Lidzbark Warmiński or the return to Suryty better suits your plans.
The municipal road to Lidzbark Warmiński also serves as a cycling route; it was renovated in 2011. Alongside the cycling routes described, this gives you another named cycling connection to consider when finding your way around.
Kayaking across several lakes
The kayaking route is more than 20 kilometres long and passes through Lake Blanki. It can be started at the cape at Blanki and runs via Lake Symsar and Klutajny to Lidzbark Warmiński. With this starting point and named destination, you can include the tour as a distinct focus in your travel plans. The places mentioned clearly distinguish it from the cycling routes described: here, the focus is on a route across Lake Blanki and Lake Symsar. Blanki and Lake Symsar also feature on the approximately 30-kilometre cycling loop; both bodies of water are therefore shared reference points for the cycling and kayaking routes described.
If you are also interested in fishing, note one particular detail: Gospodarstwo Rybacko-Wędkarskie Olsztyn manages Lake Blanki, but fishing permits cannot be purchased online there. Bear this restriction in mind if you are planning a stay that includes fishing.
